As noted in the DoD section of the Overview/Background Segment, the Department of Defense participated in the development of early EHR model systems. That effort, like that of the Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs’ effort, has continued unabated. And the EHR component of its information architecture, though very similar to that of the DVA, has specific differences.
