The Food and Drug Administration participates in  the activities of the ANSI HISB, the activities of the IEEE-Computer Society (IEEE-CS) Software Engineering Standards Committee (SESC) and in the US Technical Advisory Group (TAG)  to ISO/IEC  Joint Technical Committee 1 Subcommittee #7 on Software Engineering (JTC1/SC7). Through these activities the FDA can guide both the evolution of the conceptual content and the processes for implementation of quality information systems that serve healthcare enterprises.
