The collection of terms relating to the EHR environment, given in the Glossary Page of the About the Site Folder of this website, has been presented there both for online viewing and for printing as a step towards consistent use of terms about the EHR and the Health Information Domain. It is a selection of terms from a collection being used to create an ASTM Standard Terminology in Health Care Informatics by the ASTM E-31.01 Technical Subcommittee on Health Concept Representation. That Standard will be used not only within the ASTM E-31 Technical Committee on Health Informatics but also will be offered for use by other Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs) within the ANSI Health Informatics Standards Board and by standards users, including educational programs. This collection was abstracted for this Website as a service in promoting education in Health Informatics and the EHR. Also listed here is a table of common acronyms for organizations and for others terms common used in association with the EHR and this website. It is intended to help the viewer understand the jargon appearing in discussions about the EHR.
